    James Bond Sparks

A Massive Bidding War From Five Hollywood Studios

We knew James Bond was popular, but we didn't realise just how much competition there was in Hollywood for the rights to the series' upcoming movie.
Anyone would think it's a lucrative franchise or something...
According to The Wrap, a total of five Hollywood studios are all vying for the deal, including Warner Bros, Universal, 20th Century Fox, Annapurna Pictures, and its previous home Sony Pictures.
Despite the popularity among studios, the contract on offer is reportedly for one film only, one without a director attached or a known timetable for release. So, why the competition?
Well, after four successful outings, the next Bond movie is believed by some to be current 007 Daniel Craig's last.
Despite much speculation that the actor's days of vodka Martinis are behind him, Moneypenny herself Naomie Harris believes that neither the franchise nor Daniel has moved on from each other.
She admitted: "I think there's a very good chance that Daniel will come back. I think it's way too early to be thinking about other people at this stage.
"And I don't think Daniel is immune to that... I think he's very aware, so I think that adds an extra level of pressure. But he has to ultimately do what feels right to him."
If Daniel doesn't end up reprising his role as Britain's suavest spy, then perhaps bosses might want to consider Doctor Who's Pearl Mackie for the job. We'd certainly be down for that.
Pearl said: "I'd quite like to play James Bond. 'James' not 'Jane' – if I can be called Bill, I can be called James!"
Other names in the running to be the next James Bond have included Idris Elba (who's, er, actually ruled himself out of the running), Poldark's Aidan Turner and of course, Tom Hiddleston.
