Sonam Kapoor's grandmother expired the age of 88

Sonam Kapoor penned an emotional message on the demise of her grandmother.

It's a sad day for the Kapoor family, as Sonam Kapoor's maternal grandmother Draupadi Hingorani Bhambani, fondly remembered as Duru, passed away earlier today. She was 88 years old.

Sonam took to Instagram to share a throwback photo with her grandmother and wrote, "Love you nani, will miss you so much. Thank you for teaching me everything.. 23/5/1928 to 29/4/2017 Draupadi/Duru Hingorani Bhambani always in our hearts."

Sonam's sister Rhea Kapoor remembered her grandmother with a throwback photo. "What a lady, what a legacy. I will always remember you as my spirit and my strength nani. I love you forever. #duru," Rhea captioned it.
