After Bhoomi, Sanjay Dutt to star in a romantic thriller – Malang

After Sanjay Dutt was released from jail, his fans have been waiting to see him on the silver screen once again. While he has announced that he will make a comeback with Omung Kumar’s Bhoomi this year, he was also being linked to several other projects.However, we can finally confirm that post Bhoomi, the actor will be playing the lead in a romantic thriller, titled Malang. Set in Varanasi, the film will be directed by debutant director, Aarambhh Singh and will be produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Singh along with Omung Kumar of Legend Studios.

Talking about Malang, Sanjay Dutt mentioned in a statement, “I have always believed in the passion of newcomers and fresh talent. I observed Aarambhh since he was the assisting Omung during Bhoomi. When he narrated Malang to me, I looked at Sandeep and said I am hooked. Aarambhh, who has also worked on Bhoomi, is elated to direct Dutt in his first directorial venture. As he added, “It’s a huge opportunity to direct Sanjay Sir and have him be the hero of my film. I am very grateful to him for letting me direct a great star like him. It’s a dream true. The shooting of Malang will take off from December 2017 and will be released mid-next year. Apart from these two films, Sanjay Dutt is also going to be a part of the third part of Rajkumar Hirani‘s Munna Bhai franchise and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. He has been linked with Marco Bhau and a few other films too.
