Simran credits row:
The war is on! If Simran controversy is made as a Captain America: Civil War movie, we now learn that director Hansal Mehta is Team Kangana Ranaut and not Team Apurva Asrani, the original writer of the movie. If you had no clue about what the controversy is all about, then let me put a brief note for you. It all started when the first poster came out and it gives the lead actress Kangana Ranaut a secondary credit of additional dialogue writer. While it wasn’t exactly an issue, the real problem was that it came before the credits of the original writer. Kangana has also spoken on a few occasions about how she had changed the one line screenplay of Simran and turned a dark, gritty affair into a lighthearted comedy. Taking offence in this matter, Apurva wrote a long FB post where he accused Kangana of muscling her way into getting additional credits, while calling out on Hansal Mehta to show some spine in the matter. However, producer Shailendra Singh and actress Kangana Ranaut slammed Apurva for doing this to gain attention.
Now Hansal Mehta has finally spoken out as he posts his statement on Twitter, where without taking any names, he shows whose side he is on. He clearly hints towards Apurva for being an attention-seeker and asked him to do some work that he can genuinely call his own. This is what he wrote, “Yes, I am guilty. Guilty of crediting individuals who contribute to making my films very special to many of us. Yes, I will be guilty. Not once more. But a thousand times over. Call me names, as many names as you want. But in your desperation to seek attention and gain sympathy do not try to harm my film. My spine is whatever it is, weak or strong, it is only for my film and nothing else. If I chose not to speak it is for my film. And when I do speak it will only be in the service of my film, not driven by any blackmail or any noise on social media where dignity is perceived as weakness and conversation is replaced by the allegation. I don’t owe anybody an explanation exception those colleagues who work with love, respect and are genuine stakeholders in our efforts to make films. And some free advice to those who jump the gun just to be relevant- go get a life. Do some work what you can genuinely own. Endure the pain that comes with making an entire film and make that journey on your own. Then, go give yourself all the credits in the world.”

However, Apurva is not the one to back down as he replied to the same post with this statement, ““If only he mentioned ‘the truth’ as many times as he has mentioned ‘MY film’, he wouldn’t have found himself in this degrading situation.”
We wonder how long will this mess be dragged on. BTW – whose side are you on?Article source::yahoo.com
