An autopsy report on Carrie Fisher’s body has made some startling revelations. Traces of cocaine, methadone, heroin and ecstasy were found in her system. The Star Wars actress, who passed away on December 27 last year, had suffered a cardiac arrest. However, the autopsy has brought out details that might put everyone in a state of shock. The report states, “Based on the available toxicological information, we cannot establish the significance of the multiple substances that were detected in Ms. Fisher’s blood and tissue, with regard to the cause of death.” The primary reason for her death, as per the report, concludes that it was due to sleep apnea, as the drugs further contributed to the condition.

The report has further claimed that the late actress may have ingested the cocaine as early as three days before her flight. This adds more uncertainty about the cause of death as these revelations are questionable. Chances of exposure to heroin could have suppressed her breathing when she went into cardiac arrest. Fisher passed away three days after she suffered an arrest, in a hospital. A report on Variety claimed that the late actress’ immediate kin were opposing the autopsy to be conducted in the first place. Apart from the illegal drugs, she was already on medication as she was taking Prozac, Abilify and Lamictal under prescription. Simultaneously, she was also taking oxycodone, but without a prescription. The report also revealed Fisher’s history of bipolar disorder and drug abuse.

When the actress had the cardiac arrest, she was in flight with her assistant. Her assistant had stated that she was wide awake and normal before the flight. However, later she started having “multiple apneic episodes, which was her baseline” during the flight. When the flight finally landed, officials were unable to wake her up. Her death shook the industry and fandom as it was too sudden. During the launch of Star Wars Episode 8, the entire cast, along with George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill paid a tribute to the late actress.
