Kapil Sharma, Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh – a look at India’s highest paid comedians on TV!

Making people laugh is no easy feat but these comedians manage to do this with flair and are richly rewarded for the same

The current fiasco between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover has drawn focus on how the absence of Sunil can affect the TRPs of The Kapil Sharma Show and its earnings. It is no secret that the popular comedians on Indian TV rake in a lot more than TV stars. Their earnings are a lot more than TV’s reigning soap kings and queens. Besides TV shows, they can earn from gigs at various places including shows at weddings. Kapil Sharma displaced the likes of Aamir Khan, AR Rahman and Ranveer Singh to emerge as the 11th highest earning celebrity in India. The only two other people from TV in that list were Krushna and Bharti. That speaks a lot for this brigade. Here is a look at India’s top four comedians who are laughing their way to the bank.
    Kapil Sharma
The star comedian bagged the 11th position in the list of highest earnings celebrities. Kapil Sharma makes an estimated Rs 30.67 crores per year which makes his earnings higher than that of Aamir Khan. As per reports, he charges Rs 70-85 lakhs per episode. It is not surprising considering he does everything from scripting to production and hosting of the highly rated show. Besides, he has brand endorsements with Policy Bazaar and Micromax and live events. His fees for live shows is reportedly Rs one crore. In 2015, his yearly income was estimated at Rs 15 crore, the hike is proof how he upped his game in the commercial department. He makes a lot more than Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff or Shraddha Kapoor. Krushna Abhishek
He has faced a lot of flak for being offensive on Comedy Nights Live and Comedy Nights Bachao but Krushna is the second highest earnings comedian in India as per the Forbes List. He takes the 98th spot in the highest earning list. He makes Rs 35-40 lakhs per episode. He does a lot of shows with colleague Sudesh Lehri and they charge around Rs 15 lakhs a live show together. Krushna has great comic timing, he can dance well and can host events too. Sudesh makes around Rs 7-8 lakhs for a solo show. Krushna loves cars and bikes and is the proud owner of a Harley Davidson. We told you how she is the highest paid contestant on Nach Baliye 8 making Rs 30 lakhs per episode. Bharti used to earn Rs 6-7 lakhs in 2014 and now she charges close to Rs 15 lakhs for a live event. Bharti also bagged an endorsement of Joy beauty care this year breaking stereotypes. In 2015, she bought a black Mercedes to add to her kitty of cars that include an Audi Q5.
    Sunil Grover
A versatile artist, Sunil has worked in TV, films and radio. After these three, he is the richest comedian in the country with his characters Gutthi, Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi being a rage. He makes around Rs 10-15 lakhs for his performances at corporate events, live shows and marriages. Sunil is paid close to Rs 8-10 lakhs for every episode.
