Ranbir Kapoor's Sanjay Dutt biopic is all set to release on March 30, 2018..
There was much speculation about a mega box office clash between Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan this December. Reports suggested that the Sanjay Dutt biopic was slated to release on December 23 along with Tiger Zinda Hai. We were super excited to see the duo clash at the box office, however looks like Ranbir Kapoor has avoided clashing with Salman Khan. The team has now decided to release the Sanjay Dutt biopic next year, on March 30, with Fox Star Studios distributing the Rajkumar Hirani directorial.
In a statement released today, a new deal between Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Fox Star Studios was also announced. It read as, “Fox Star Studios inks a 3 film deal with Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra over their next ventures. Collaboration commences with Sanjay Dutt’s untitled biopic releasing on March 30, 2018, followed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s directorial next.” While there was no mention of the third film, we guess it will be the third part of the Munna Bhai franchise.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting for the Sanjay Dutt biopic and will wrap up the movie soon. It will chronicle the life of the superstar, from his early acting days to his jail term and much more. Apart from Ranbir, Sonam Kapoor is also a part of the movie and from what we hear, she plays a fictional character in the movie. Manisha Koirala, on the other hand, plays Baba’s mother, Nargis Dutt. This announcement means Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger Zinda Hai will have a solo release on December 23, and will have a fantastic, open run for at least three to four weeks.
