For those of you who were waiting for Salman Khan’s pretty Tubelight co-star to come down to India, we have some news. Well, we know that in just a few hours the movie will be out in the theatres. But everyone was wondering why Zhu Zhu wasn’t a part of the film’s promotions. Was the actress so busy with work that she couldn’t spare time for her big Bollywood debut? Kabir Khan at a recent event said, “She’s busy there in China, isi liye woh aa nahi paayi hai (that’s why she couldn’t come). Before release definitely not.” Well, this confirmation came in a little too late. Kabir and Salman also revealed that Matin Rey Tangu was introduced late into the promotions because they wanted to save the best for the last. However, our source revealed that the real reason why Zhu Zhu is missing from Tubelight promotions in India is something else. According to our source, “The Chinese government isn’t too pleased with Tubelight and have apprehensions about how Kabir Khan and team have projected their country in this film. Considering that the film deals with Ind0-Chinese war they are not sure if the Chinese have been projected in the right light. And that’s why Zhu Zhu has been asked to stay away from the film’s promotions.”

Before Zhu Zhu came on board buzz was that Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was in the running for the film. It seems that Deepika had differences with Kabir over her role and felt that it was not meaty enough and hence she bowed out. Of course there was no confirmation from either parties and these ended up being mere speculations. Finally Chinese actress Zhu Zhu was taken on board and the movie was shot in the northern parts of India.

Tubelight is all set to release tomorrow on June 23, just ahead of Eid. This is the third time Salman and Kabir have collaborated for a film after Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Salman is all set to start work on Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai post Tubelight and will reunite with Katrina Kaif on screen for the same.
