A shocking rumour about Saath Nibhaana Saathiya's closure is doing the rounds...
It is highly unusual that a show that regularly finds a place in the top 15 when it comes to TRP ratings, would be shut down prematurely. And that too, when the show has been running successfully for five long years. Well, the closure of Saath Nibhaana Saathiyahas lead to a number of speculations. They range from a tiff between producers and channel and leading lady Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s reported high-handed behaviour. The second one is gaining prominence in some circles. Buzz is that Devoleena demanded that her pay be hiked to Rs two lakh per day and that was unacceptable to the channel. It was turning out to be an expensive proposition for the channel as Rupal Patel who plays Kokila Modi also a very staggering fee. There is no doubt that Devoleena is one of the highest paid actresses on TV. A source informed us that she was making a whopping Rs 1.5 lakh per episode. This is higher than that of other TV divas like Divyanka Tripathi and Jennifer Winget, who is also reportedly commanding a lakh per episode. As per speculations, Devoleena was asking for a couple of lakhs for an episode but insiders say it is not true per se. It seems the actress was quite satisfied with what she was getting on the show. The real issue is apparently a fight between the producers and channel, as being spoken about in some other circles. It seems the rumours have reached Devoleena’s ears as well and she was a bit amused. However, the actress told Bollywood Life, “Whatever amount I am getting is my personal matter. Why do I have to tell anyone about it? Would anyone do it? We know that Saathiya is winding up. I don’t know from where such rumours are arising.” In the mean time, she is focusing on her recovery from a back problem, which was niggling her for a few years. She underwent surgery in Nanavati Hospital and just shot for the last day of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Reports also say that she has been approached for Bigg Boss 11.
