No more Life Ok for you. Read to know what happens to your favourite shows on it.
Bollywood Life has exclusively found out that Life OK will be relaunched and re-branded. The channel will have a new name. Come August, the channel will be relaunched as Star Bharat coinciding with India’s 70 years of independence. This is the second time after 2011 when Star has rebranded this channel. Earlier, Star One was relaunched as Life Ok.
Most of the old shows like May I come in Madam, Sher-E-Punjab Ranjeet Singh, Chandrakanta will go off air. Star Bharat will launch with a big musical extravaganza show that will give a glimpse of the new channel. Many new shows like Ayushamaan Bhava staring Avinash Sachdev, Kya Haal Paanchaal and Shatranj… Mahadev 2 will be launched on Star Bharat soon as exclusively reported in Bollywood life. The channel will have a complete Indian feel with modern outlook.
Among the existing shows, only Gulaam and Savdhaan India will continue airing on Star Bharat as well. This is second time this second General Entertainment channel of Star Network had been relaunched. After the success of Star Plus, Star Network had launched Star One in 2004 with urban and youth based shows. The channel never saw popularity like Star Plus but created iconic shows like Khichdi , Sarabhai Vs Sarabhi , Nach Baliye and The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. The channel went through lots of programming changes but on 18 December 2011, it was relaunched as Life OK .
Life Ok promised some different shows and among the new only ‘Devon Ke Dev -Mahadev’ and ‘Shaubhagyawati Bhav’ could make a mark. Apart of that, there was Mallika Sherawat ‘s Swayamwar Bachelorette India and many other reality shows but none worked. Though the channel did attain success with Sawdhaan India’ that got the channel ratings . So that’s why Savdhaan India is been retained in the new channel as well.
Among the new shows ‘Shatranj’ is actually an Indian Adaptation of English show ‘House of Cards’ that stars Sonal Vengurkar ,Bhanu Uday and Akshay anand. The show is been produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms. Another show is based on Polygamy caller ‘Kya Haal Paanchal ‘ been produced by Optimystic Productions. It is about a guy who would get married to five girls, as a result of his mother’s wish to get a perfect wife for her son. The show will star Maninder Singh playing the lead with 5 girls opposite him.
Avinash Sachdev will return to TV with a show called Ayushmaan Bhaw that was earlier called ‘Inteqaam Ek Masoom Ka’ . The thriller show will have Megha Gupta and a child actor Ricky Patel with Avinash. The show is said to be TV adaptation of Govinda starter Hatya. So Star Bharat will be a mix bag of shows from comedy to thriller to a mythological .. that will cater to the new age India.
Hope Star Network will be able create a TV brand with the relaunch of Life Ok this time round. Considering the digital penetration of India, this one seems to be a big risk for India s biggest entertainment network. Stay tuned with Bollywood life for more updates
