Thanks to Saif Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar’s jibes at Kangana Ranaut, nepotism debate has once again resurfaced. Damn, it feels like we’re back to February when this row first broke out. With whatever the trio said on the IIFA Awards 2017 stage, they later even apologised after the backlash faced. But they all had different things to say. Varun kept it simple as he said he was sorry. KJo promised not to go down that lane ever again. And Saif, well, he said a lot of things. Some we were able to comprehend, some we weren’t. He even brought genetics in the debate as he said that good actor genes makes you a good actor. While that interview puzzled a lot of people, he gave another interview to Firstpost. Here, he blamed media for being the crux of brewing nepotism in the industry.

According to the site, he said, “Taimur gets written about like he’s Elvis, before he’s even born. And so now when he’s growing up, it’s going to be really tough for us as parents to keep a level head on his shoulders and tell him, ‘No, you are nothing. You haven’t achieved anything until you’ve done it on your own.’ When he’s 18, the press themselves will launch him. So where does the nepotism start? The producer is just an opportunist saying ‘okay, let me market this.'” While people reacted strongly to the jokes cracked by the actors on Kangana, the diva seemed unfazed. A source told us exclusively that Kangana has a lot in her plate with Manikarnika and other upcoming projects that she simply can’t humour what people have to say about her.

For all those who don’t know, here’s what exactly happened. During IIFA 2017, when Varun Dhawan came to collect his award, he asked Karan Johar as to why he wasn’t cast in Baahubali 3. To this, KJo responded by asking if Varun thinks he gets movies because of his talent. Saif butted in and said, “You are here because of your papa.” The young actor then took a jibe at Saif as he said, “And you’re here because of your mummy.” Out of nowhere, Karan added, “I am here because of my papa.” And together they said, “Nepotism rocks.”
