Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morre is based on Rabindrath Tagore's Bengali Novel Joga Jog
After Kalash, Krrip Kapur Suri will now be seen as a baddie in his next. Zee TV is all set to launch their new show ‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morre’ in which Krrip will be seen playing an out and out negative role. The show is based on the issue of marital rape. Newcomer Yesha will play his wife
‘Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morre’ will replace Sethji in Zee TV’s evening slot. The show is set against a Gujarati Backdrop. This show is adapted from a Bengali novel by Rabindranath Tagore called ‘Joga Jog’. However, the Bengali setting has been modified to modern Gujarati setting. Few years back a Bengali film called ‘Joga Jog’ was also made on the same subject. Regional stories seem to be the flavor of the season because along with this show Zee is also launching a Hindi adaptation of another Zee Bengali show ‘Bhutu’.
The show is been produced by actor cum producer Jai Mehta and his wife Kinnari Mehta. The show will also star Sheetal Maulik, Neha Dandale and Rupa Divetia in pivotal roles. With this show taking the 7 PM slot from 21 August, Sethi Ji the current show on Zee TV will have a new time slot.
Krrip hails from a Punjabi family of Delhi and has been working in the television industry since 10 years. He started off with Sony TV’s show Pitaah and went on to do many roles. He got his big break with Sadda Haq on Channel V . This youth show was a life changer for the actor. He has a well toned physique and intense eyes which add to his macho personality. After Sadda Haq he went on to play Akbar in Mahararana Pratap. Than he got to play a lead in Ekta Kapoor’s Kalash opposite Aparna Dixit.
The life OK show made Krrip a popular name and this was the first time he was playing a positive role. But it seems Kripp is more appreciated as a negative actor. For the first time the audience will get to see an anti hero at loggerheads with a girl in this show. Sriti Jha and Karanvir Bohra’s ‘Saubhagyawati Bhawa ‘, which came 5 years ago, was the only show that revolved around an anti hero.
