Both Richa and Kalki will be seen playing the character of Jia...
The teaser of Richa Chadha and Kalki Koechlin‘s new film, interestingly titled, Jia Aur Jiais here and as you must have guessed it by the title, it’s about two characters as different as chalk and cheese, as they go by the same name.
According to the official synopsis of the film, it will depict the story of two strangers, played by Richa Chadha and Kalki Koechlin, who go on a life changing road trip. By destiny, they both have only one thing in common – their names. Richa and Kalki both play Jia in the film and in real life too both share a great rapport with each other.
In the teaser, Kalki, who plays Jia, is shown to be of a chirpy kind, who lives life on her own terms, on the other hand Richa is playing Jia, who is an introvert and is sort of stuck with Kalki’s Jia on this fateful trip.

The teaser has a freshness attached to it and I am looking forward to this one. Having said that, it does remind me of other successful road trip comedies, like Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis’ starrer Due Date. The film is directed by Howard Rosemeyer, who is a well known actor and dance choreographer for films like MS Dhoni – The Untold Story and Rustom.
Kalki Koechlin was last seen in A Death In The Gunj, on the other hand, Richa Chadha will return as Bholi Punjaban for Fukrey Returns, the much loved sequel of Fukrey.
