Nawazuddin Siddiqui's film is doing great at the box office
Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is relentless at the box office. It’s incredible to see that this is the only film which managed to stand tall from the last weekend’s multi-releases. There were as much as 9 releases including A Gentleman, Qaidi Band, Sniff and others but BB is the only film that shined. Given Nawaz’s loyal fanbase, it was given that the film will get a good response but becoming a hit within few days of release is simply fabulous. Credit goes to the director Kushan Nandy for presenting such a film and to the actors who lived their characters. Nothing is off in the film and that has made it one of the sleeper hits of 2017. The latest figures of the film as provided by Taran Adarsh show, “#BabumoshaiBandookbaaz Fri 2.05 cr, Sat 2.41 cr, Sun 3.07 cr. Mon 1.38 cr, Tue 1.21, Wed 1.12 Total: ₹ 11.24 cr. India biz.”
BB is going steady at the box office and how! This proves that from now on filmmakers need to be true to their craft rather than gimmicks. Audience is shunning anything which doesn’t leave up to the expectations. Look at what happened to Salman Khan’s Tubelight and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal. Nawazuddin’s film got good reviews and that made the film mint money from the first day itself. It has released in only 500 screens according to reports and still managed to make it count at the box office. It was said that families will stay away from the film because of content. Even if that was true, the film didn’t suffer at all. In fact, it is already a hit.
Hopefully, filmmakers and stars will realise what audience wants for real.
